Manchester City news: David Silva linked with Valencia return

With Manchester City captain David Silva set to leave the club at the end of the season, his next team might now have been revealed.

Silva is set to bring his decade-long stay with City to an end when his contract expires next month, and has been linked with a host of clubs across Europe, Asia and North America as a result.

According to 90min, however, the 34-year-old could make a return to his former club Valencia, who are reportedly preparing a move for both him and under-fire Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

It is claimed that the LaLiga side plan to sign the pair of Spaniards in a bid to "revolutionise their squad" ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Valencia have reportedly made their entire squad available for transfer after a dismal campaign saw them end ninth in the league table, and, as such, a major upheaval is expected.

Silva is reportedly keen on a return to his boyhood club, but may yet remain at City beyond this season despite confirming his impending exit, as the Citizens are believed to have offered him a year-long extension on his current deal should the move to Spain not materialise.
