Guardiola left speechless by Man City star

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola was left speechless by one of his stars after their win over Crystal Palace on Saturday night.

The Citizens moved to within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal after defeating the Eagles 1-0 at Selhurst Park.

Erling Haaland grabbed the headlines with his 28th league goal of the season, but it was the performance of midfielder Rodri that left Guardiola stunned after the game.

"What a game, what a game," Guardiola said, as per Manchester Evening News.

"What a holding midfielder, no words to describe him. With and without the ball, the presence, clever with the ball, now attacking, driving, going with the ball when the space was there. A fantastic game."

Guardiola also had some praise for Haaland, who managed to get the only goal on a frustrating night in front of goal.

"One of the best things of knowing him well together is he can miss one chance and he won't get depressed, or he's not sad. And he's positive - next one," he added.

"He knows he will have the chance and he'll be there. That's an incredible attribute as a football player and as an athlete.

"Normally, in football, basketball or tennis, when you're thinking of the action just passed or finished, you cannot be a good athlete. This guy has another one, another one."
