Man Utd rescue a point after late comeback

Manchester United came from back from two goals down to rescue a 2-2 draw at Everton on Saturday afternoon.

United coach Ruben Amorim made just one change from the loss to Tottenham Hotspur as Alejandro Garnacho dropped to the bench as Manuel Ugarte returned to the midfield alongside Casemiro.

The hosts got off to a better start than United, which resulted in getting the opening goal in the 19th minute when Beto continued his form by volleying home from close range after United struggled to deal with a corner.

While United struggled to carve out any chances, the Toffees doubled their lead in the 32nd minute when Abdoulaye Doucouré showed great response to pounce on a rebound and head into an empty net.

Everton remained on the front foot for the remainder of the first half but were unable to find another goal while the Red Devils struggled to register a single effort at Jordan Pickford's goal.

The Red Devils did dominate more of the ball in the second half, with Ruben Amorim adding another attacker to mix as Garnacho was eventually introduced on the hour mark for Casemiro.

United gave themselves a lifeline in the 72nd minute when Bruno Fernandes curled home a wonderful free-kick that left Pickford with no chance.

The comeback was complete with ten minutes to play as an Everton clearance landed in the path of Ugarte, who controlled well before volleying home from the edge of the box.
