Brighton punish Man Utd at Old Trafford

Manchester United's struggles in the Premier League continued after losing 3-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon.

Diogo Dalot returned from suspension to replace Alejandro Garnacho, while Joshua Zirkzee earned a start in place of Rasmus Hojlund after impressing off the bench against Southampton.

Brighton only needed five minutes to get the breakthrough when a ball over the top released Kaoru Mitoma, who put the ball on the plate for Yankuba Minteh to tap home from close range.

The Red Devils had to wait until the 20th minute to get back on level terms after Bruno Fernandes converted a penalty after Zirkzee was brought down in the area.

Brighton could have restored their lead on the stroke of halftime when Danny Welbeck slipped through on goal, but Dalot got back in time to deny the former Red Devils striker in the six-yard area,

The visitors thought they had restored their lead seven minutes the break through Joao Pedro's clinical finish but after a check on the VAR monitor, the referee ruled the goal out for a foul on Dalot.

There was no denying Brighton on the hour mark as Minteh turned provider and returned favour for Mitoma, who volleyed home at the far post to give his side the lead.

It got better for the visiting side in the 75th minute when Georgino Rutter pounced on a horrible handling error from United goalkeeper Andre Onana and fired into an empty net.
