Ex-Wydad star: 'Pep's Man City inspires Rulani'

A former Wydad Casablanca star has shared his thoughts on Rulani Mokwena's team being grouped with Manchester City and Juventus at the FIFA Club World Cup.

The Moroccan giants are one of the four African teams competing at the newly revamped 32-team Club World Cup, which will take place in the United States next year.

The Red Castle were drawn in what could be deemed the toughest group alongside Man City, Juventus and United Arab Emirates outfit Al Ain.

"The 2025 World Cup will be crazy, and it is a stage for the elite clubs around the world, and we must prepare well for it," Former Wydad star Abdeladim Khadrouf told Kooora.

"I know very well what it means to participate in this type of international competition, and Wydad is in a strong group.

"Manchester City inspires Mokwena, the Wydad coach, and Juventus also came back from far in the Italian league.

"I participated in the World Cup in the Emirates, but the next edition in America seems crazy and exciting, as there is a golden shield, elite clubs, and World Cup stadiums.

"I think Wydad is required to prepare strongly for this edition and make distinctive deals worthy of the global event."
