For most of the pre-season, the Belgian had worn the No.50 but the club insisted it was just for the off-season.
However, Los Blancos have now confirmed that the former Chelsea star will wear the No.7 jersey, taking over from Mariano Diaz who inherited the number when Cristiano Ronaldo left.
Hazard previously wore the No.10 during his time with Chelsea as well as the Belgium national side. The winger revealed jokingly that Luka Modric had rejected his request for number 10.
"I was joking when I asked him to lend me the number 10. He said no, so I'll have to find another number," Hazard said at his unveiling.
Hazard was rumoured to take the No.23 but that number went to Ferland Mendy, while fellow new signings Luka Jovic and Eder Militao will don 18 and three respectively.
