FC Barcelona target Ajax star Dusan Tadic after Rodrigo, Bruno Fernandes transfer mishap

FC Barcelona have reportedly set their eyes on Ajax forward Dusan Tadic after Manchester United scuppered their move for Valencia and Spain star Rodrigo.

After Luis Suarez suffered a serious knee injury that's likely to keep him out for the next four months, the Spanish giants have made a new striker a priority in the January transfer window.

Valencia's Rodrigo emerged as their main target but with Los Che unwilling to lower their demands, it's been reported that Quinque Setien's side had offered to include Bruno Fernandes as part of the deal.

According to Marca, the Blaugrana made a late audacious bid for the Sporting Lisbon captain in an attempt to hijack his move to Manchester United, ahead of using a six-month loan offer to Valencia.

However, with United moving ahead with an increased bid, all hopes of a sensational late deal fell through and negotiations with Fernandes and Rodrigo broke down immediately.

It's now been reported that the LaLiga champions have made contact with the representatives of Ajax captain Dusan Tadic, who will arrive in Catalonia this week to open talks.

Tadic, 31, has been one of the leading performers in Europe since leaving Southampton for the Eredivisie giants with 50 goals and 46 assists in 89 games over the past two seasons.

The report further added that Barca will be aiming to secure a six-month loan deal for the Serbia international, with only two days remaining before the transfer window shuts.
