With a vote of no confidence looming, FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has reportedly made a decision over his future at the club. Following months of unrest at Barcelona, a motion of no confidence is scheduled to take place on 1 November 2020 to decide the future of the club's board, including under-fire president Bartomeu, who was at the centre of the now-infamous Lionel Messi transfer saga. The 57-year-old entrepreneur was widely reported to be considering resigning from his role as a result of the public disapproval in his performance, but has now elected against stepping down before the motion is concluded. It is reported further that health protocols have created uncertainty over the date and venue for the motion to be heard, and that those opposing the current board's reign will take legal action if it does not take place as scheduled.
