With Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele suffering long-term injuries, Quinque Setien's side has been left thin with options in attack.
As a result, the Blaugrana have activated the €18 million release clause of Leganes striker Martin Braithwaite, who has agreed a four and a half year contract.
The 28-year-old forward has emerged as one of the leading strikers in the Spanish top-flight since joining the club from Middlesbrough in January last year and can feature all across the front-three.
"FC Barcelona have paid the buy out clause of the player Martin Braithwaite and therefore he is no longer contractually tied to Club Deportivo Leganés," the club statement read.
"The player will sign a contract with the Club for the rest of the season and four more until 30 June 2024 with the buy out clause set at 300 million euros."
