Real Madrid reignite interest in Neymar?

Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly reignited their interest in Paris Saint-Germain's wantaway star Neymar, whom many believe is poised for a return to FC Barcelona.

The writing appears to be on the wall for the world's most expensive player, who joined PSG in a world-record €222 million (R3.5 billion) deal in 2017, with all signs indicating that an exit from the Ligue 1 champions is imminent.

Neymar's former club Barca are favourites to land the 27-year-old's services, but arch-rivals Real Madrid are believed to have re-entered the fray in their bid to snap up the superstar.

The PSG attacker was the subject of reported interest from Zinedine Zidane's Los Blancos side in the past, and it has now been claimed, as per Sport, that the 13-time UEFA Champions League winners will once again to try lure the former Santos man to the Santiago Bernabeu.

After monitoring Neymar's progress, Real reportedly engaged in negotiations with the star last season, but the deal apparently hit a snag, with the two parties unable to reach a compromise.

Blaugrana president Josep Maria Bartomeu recently broke his silence on the club's links with Neymar, insisting that no formal offer has been made for the Selecao star by the Spanish giants.

While the player himself is said to love the idea of reuniting with Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou, it has also been claimed that Les Parisiens are not keen on Neymar's return to Barca, and would rather sell their prized asset to the Catalan club's arch-rivals Real.
