A former Manchester United star has reportedly been sentenced to prison.
Former Red Devils defender Patrice Evra has been sentenced to 12 months for alleged family abandonment, which is suspended for two years.
According to the Daily Mail, judges in Paris ruled that the former France star failed to pay almost £1million in alimony to his wife and effectively abandoned her and the two children between May 1, 2021 and September 28, 2023.

The former United star's lawyers did confirm that an appeal had been launched immediately following Tuesday's verdict.
Evra, however, took to social media to react the prison sentence and appeared to make fun of the incident.
"Let me shutdown this rubbish news. Look how much I enjoyed myself in prison," Evra said in the video in Instagram.
Evra's lawyer, Jerome Bouriscan, insisted there are no outstanding payments.
"Mr Patrice Evra filed an appeal, knowing that he provided his wife with an apartment, a house with a swimming pool in the south of France and that he lent her almost two million euros for her daily life,' Boursican said, as per Daily Mail."
'"Sum that she refuses to return, which is the reason for this trial."
