Having scored in every match since Serie A's return to action, Cristiano Ronaldo is rapidly gaining ground in the race for the Golden Shoe, but still has some way to go to catch Europe's leading goalscorer this season.
Since the league's resumption last month following the coronavirus-enforced suspension, Ronaldo has scored in all three of Juventus' matches to take his overall tally of Serie A goals to 24 for the campaign.

That tally is only good enough to see him claim fifth place in Europe's goalscoring chart, on which he lies 10 goals behind Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski, whose campaign recently drew to a close following the conclusion of the Bundesliga season.

RB Leipzig's Timo Werner and Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland, who rank third and fourth respectively, have also played their last games for the season, meaning they are out of the running for the award this year.
That leaves Ronaldo, and second-placed Ciro Immobile (29 goals), with nine matches in which to close the gap on the Poland striker, although FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is also still in the running for the coveted prize.

Messi has netted 22 times in LaLiga this season and, despite the fact that Barca only have five league matches remaining for the campaign, will be doing everything in his power to win a fourth consecutive Golden Shoe, and seventh in total.
Note: Goals scored by players outside of Europe's top five leagues (England, Spain, Italy, France and Germany) carry a weaker coefficient and are accordingly awarded fewer points.
