Juventus and Napoli's Serie A clash which was set for Sunday evening in Turin at the Allianz Stadium was abandoned after the away side refused to honour the fixture. Napoli's refusal comes as were reportedly banned from travelling due to the COVID restrictions in Naples after confirming three new positive cases of the coronavirus amongst their players and staff the club confirmed on Friday. The player whose test results came back positive is Polish midfielder Piotr Zielinski and staff member being Giandomenico Costi. Lega Serie A confirmed late on Sunday that the match is set to go ahead, however Juve had no intention accepting a postponement but wanted Napoli to attend or forfeit the match. While Juve released a line-up for the match against Gennaro Gattuso's side on their social media platforms and even went for the pre-match warm-up, there was no sign of Napoli. Juventus-Napoli officially abandoned. Better late than never Serie A.
There was no official decison on the outcome by the league, but Napoli could face a forfeit for not showing up in Turin.
