Lampard set for shock Euro job?

Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has reportedly emerged as the potential next manager of a European club.

With an esteemed reputation as one of the best English footballers of the Premier League era, Lampard's coaching career pales in comparison to his heights as a player.

He began his senior managerial career at Derby County in 2018 and just a year later he was appointed by his former club Chelsea.

Halfway through his second season in charge at Stamford Bridge, he was sacked and replaced by Thomas Tuchel.

He joined Everton in January 2022 but his spell saw the Toffees spend the bulk of his time in charge fighting relegation, which led to his exit just 44 games later.

He returned to Chelsea as interim coach in April 2023, but it was a miserable return as he lost 8 of his 11 games after coming back.

Having been unemployed since the end of June, Lampard could now be set for a sensational return to the dugout, this time outside of England

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Lampard's name has now been raised in connection with the AS Roma job.

The Italian outfit's current boss Ivan Juric is facing growing pressure amid a poor run of results and the club owners have reportedly began considering replacements.

The report claims that some sections of the fanbase wants to see Claudio Ranieri make a return, while the names of Roberto Mancini, Paulo Sousa, Massimiliano Allegri, Maurizio Sarri, and Erin Terzic have also been linked.

Notably, another former Blues boss Graham Potter has also reportedly emerged as a candidate for Roma.
