EPL giants to 'battle' PSG for Osimhen's signature

A certain premier League team are reportedly set to battle it out with Paris Saint-Germain for Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen is likely to leave Napoli at the end of the current season despite signing a new deal earlier this year.

The Reds, meanwhile, are reportedly looking to add another goal scorer to the squad after Darwin Nunez's struggles, while top scorer Mohamed Salah has been linked a with a move to the Saudi Pro League.

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Liverpool are interested in the Super Eagles striker with the aim of replacing Diaz next season.

The Nigerian striker has registered 14 goals in 22 Serie  A matches for Napoli this season and is expected to be hot property when the transfer window opens.

The report adds that PSG are favourites to land the 25-year-old striker and have already offered €40million but the player has a release clause of €130million.

Earlier this year, Napoli CEO Aurelio de Laurentiis revealed that they already knew Osimhen would leave for a bigger club after the current season.

"We knew it since last summer," De Laurentiis told TMW.

"Our negotiations were long and amicable, we were dragging things out but we knew that he would go to Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or some English team."
