Serie A match report Lazio v Juventus

Juventus missed the chance to claim back-to-back wins after drawing 1-1 against Lazio in Serie A action on Sunday afternoon.

Ciro Immobile, Lucas Leiva and goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha were key absentees for Lazio, while Cristiano Ronaldo started his first league game for Juventus since September.

Ronaldo made it three goals in two games in the league  in the 15th minute when he met a cross from Juan Cuadrado on the right-side to thump into the back of the net.

Lazio could've levelled in the matter of minutes from a nod to the back-post by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but Veda t Muriqi couldn't get on the end of the supply.

Following a quiet period, Ronaldo went close to a second five minutes to halftime from a curling strike after cutting inside the area but cracked the frame of the woodwork, before he stung the gloves of Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina with a thumping free-kick on the edge of the area moments.

Lazio made a positive start to the second half with Adam Marusic curling high and wide from the far right area after retrieving a square pass from the area.

Bianconeri were close to a second goal minutes from the restart through a snap shot from the far side by Adrien Rabiot, but Reina got down to parry.

The champions continued pushing towards the closing period of the match, but the Eagles gave little to no space to manoeuvre.

Ronaldo and Dejan Kulusevski were removed in the last 14 minutes as Weston McKennie and Paulo Dybala came in to replace the duo.

Lazio drew the cat out of the bag deep in regulation time when Felipe Caicedo collected a cutback in the area to curl into the far corner to secure a share of the spoils for his side.
