Cristiano Ronaldo has overtaken Lionel Messi as the highest-paid footballer in the world for 2020, while one African superstar made the top 10.
Ronaldo, 35, was beaten to the crown as the highest-earning footballer in 2019 by Messi but his staggering endorsement earnings of $45-million over the past 12 months has seen him edge the record six-time Ballon d'Or winner this year.

In the annual Forbes rich-list for athletes, Ronaldo's overall earnings reached $105m, which edges Messi's $104 earnings as the FC Barcelona captain's $72m wages and $32m in endorsements not enough to secure the top spot.
However, both were beaten to the crown as the highest-paid athlete in the world, as tennis legend Roger Federer, with an unmatched $100m endorsements, moved him ahead of the football icons with earnings of $106.3m.
The only African footballer to make the top 10 this year is Liverpool and Egypt forward Mohamed Salah, as the 26-year-old raked in $35.1m annual earnings, which ranked him as the 34th highest-paid athlete overall.
Spain legend Andres Iniesta, now in the J-League with Vissel Kobe and Brazil international Oscar, currently in the Chinese Super League both retained their places in the top 10, while Kylian Mbappe moved up six places from 2019.
The rest of the list comprises of Mesut Ozil, Paul Pogba and fellow 2018 FIFA World Cup winner Antoine Griezmann, who's earning with the Blaugrana sneaked him into 10th place.
