With one African footballer guaranteed to win the UEFA Champions League this season, here are some of the best players from the continent who have won Europe's elite club competition.
Following a thrilling semi-final round of fixtures, Inter Milan and Manchester City will meet in the final of the tournament on 10 June in Istanbul, Turkey.
This guarantees that either Cameroon international Andre Onana or Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez will become the latest African to win the prize after Edouard Mendy and Hakim Ziyech won it in the 2020/21 season with Chelsea.
A total of 26 African players have accomplished this feat, with only two of them, Samuel Eto'o and Seydou Keita, having won it on more than one occasion.
Should Onana's Inter emerge victorious, he will be only the fourth Indomitable Lions star to do so, while a triumph for City will make Mahrez the second Desert Warrior to claim the prestigious European crown.

Samuel Eto'o (Cameroon)
Four-time CAF Men's Footballer of the Year Eto'o remains the only player from the continent to become a three-time Champions League winner, and also the first to win it with two different clubs after his success with FC Barcelona in 2005/06 and 2008/09, as well as with Inter in 2009/10. The legendary No. 9 is considered to be one of the greatest footballers the continent has ever witnessed, with two Africa Cup of Nations titles and a FIFA Club World Cup title in his trophy cabinet.
Seydou Keita (Mali)
The former Barca midfielder boasts two UCL titles in his career; he was part of the hugely successful Blaugrana team that was managed by Pep Guardiola between 2008 and 2012. The former Mali captain won a total of 17 trophies in 188 games with the Catalan giants, including four UEFA Super Cups and three LaLiga titles.
Didier Drogba (Ivory Coast)
The Chelsea legend is currently tied with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah as the highest-scoring African player in UCL history with 44 goals. Drogba reached two finals in the showpiece but only won the 2011/12 title with the Blues after losing the 2007/08 decider against Manchester United. The 45-year-old remains one of the most prolific CAF exports ever, with over 250 goals in Europe.
Mohamed Salah (Egypt)
The Reds talisman is the only Egyptian ever to be crowned European champion after his success in 2018/19, during which he registered five goals and two assists in 12 games to help his side to a sixth UCL title and the club's first since the 2004/05 campaign. The Pharaoh has represented four clubs in the competition, namely FC Basel, Chelsea, AS Roma and Liverpool, while he, his former teammate at Anfield Sadio Mane, Drogba, and El Hadji Diouf are the only stars to win the CAF Footballer of the Year award exactly twice since 2001.
Yaya Toure (Ivory Coast)
The Ivorian won the tournament with Barca in the 2008/09 season and was considered the best in the continent in the years that followed as he won the CAF Footballer of the Year accolade four years in a row between 2011 and 2014.
