Already without the services of star forward Percy Tau, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has been dealt a fresh blow after Bongokuhle Hlongwane was ruled out through injury.
Bafana Bafana are set to face Botswana and Sierra Leone in two international friendlies later this month but are expected to be without star the attacking qualities of Percy Tau and Bongokuhle Hlongwane due to their respective injuries.
Tau has been struck down with a long-term blow that reports from Egypt claim could see him sidelined for up to three months while Hlongwane was a notable absentee from Minnesota United's matchday squad for last weekend's MLS defeat to Portland Timbers.

The club has since confirmed that the former Maritzburg United star has suffered a knee injury that has effectively ended his domestic season – with the MLS regular season drawing to a close on 9 October 2022.
"Maybe we'll see him again, but it's going to be tough. Maybe if we get in the playoffs and get on a run. He said he recovers pretty quickly," Minnesota head coach Adrian Heath said, per the Star Tribune.
Hlongwane has been a regular fixture in the Bafana Bafana squad in recent times and has won 10 caps since making his international debut in 2019, scoring twice along the way.
National team coach Hugo Broos will reveal his squad at midday on Thursday during a press conference in which more detail surrounding the upcoming friendlies is expected to be revealed.
