Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has provided an update on Itumeleng Khune's injury status after the veteran goalkeeper was forced off through injury during Sunday's win over Stellenbosch FC.
Kaizer Chiefs climbed to fourth position in the DStv Premiership standings on Sunday after recording a 3-1 win over Stellenbosch FC in Cape Town, with striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana netting a hat-trick of penalties for the Amakhosi.
The Soweto giants' triumph was slightly overshadowed by an injury to goalkeeper and captain Itumeleng Khune who had to be substituted in the first half after picking up what appeared to be a non-contact groin injury.
Khune, who has reclaimed Chiefs' No. 1 jersey in recent weeks, was replaced by understudy Brandon Petersen and is expected to undergo further assessments during the course of the week, although the immediate prognosis was better than first feared.

"I thought maybe he had snapped his groin but when I had a chat with him, and even our physio told me it's not bad," head coach Arthur Zwane told the media after the match.
"We don't know whether he will be out for the next game in terms of availability, or for the Cup game in Durban. So, we will see, we will monitor him."
The 35-year-old has made seven appearances across all competitions this season after reclaiming his starting berth from Petersen, having previously been limited to a solitary 90-minute outing during the 2021/22 campaign.
