Man Utd urged to end the relationship with Ronaldo

Manchester United legend Gary Neville says the Red Devils should part ways with Cristiano Ronaldo after he was banished from the squad this week.

The 37-year-old was dropped from the squad to play Chelsea on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge after refusing to come on as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur.

Neville felt Ronaldo's actions of walking down the tunnel before Wednesday's game had finished was unacceptable.

"Well it has been a big week for Erik ten Hag, I don't think he was left with any other option, that's the second time Cristiano Ronaldo has left Old Trafford in his car before his team have got in the changing room," Neville told Sky Sports.

"I have to say as someone in the dressing room, it's something that's unacceptable.

"When you look at whether Cristiano should be selected which is Cristiano Ronaldo's biggest problem at the moment - that he isn't playing - Manchester United are better without him and Erik ten Hag knows that.

"The only thing that Cristiano and the club can do is get together in the next week and end the relationship.

"Cristiano is too good of a player, too fantastic of a character and the club have got to move on."
