Premier League clubs are reportedly set to ignore a certain request from the Argentina national team ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Earlier this week, it was claimed Lionel Messi will ask Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier to excuse him from the matchday squad for the club's last game prior to the tournament in Qatar.

This comes after a number of top players were ruled out of the competition due to injury, including France stars Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante.
It now appears that Messi's request could be coming indirectly from the Argentine Football Association (AFA).
According to the Daily Mail, Premier League clubs will turn down a request from the South American nation for their players to be left out of teams for their final matches before World Cup preparations begin.
The report adds that one club in England's top flight has already been asked by the AFA to release a player early for the showpiece, but the plea was rejected.
It is said that the team in question has informed other clubs in the division of this action, and insisted they respond to the request with firm resistance.
With La Albiceleste being among the favourites to win the competition in the Middle East, manager Lionel Scaloni is seemingly looking to gain an edge over competitors by starting his training camp early.
There are at least six Argentina stars in the Premier League who are expected to be called up, including Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho at Manchester United, and Aston Villa's Emiliano Buendia and Emiliano Martinez.

First-choice centre-back Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton Hove Albion's Alexis Mac Allister are also among those believed to be set to be summoned by Scaloni for the global showpiece.
