Senegal have confirmed that Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane will miss the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The 30-year-old forward picked up an injury during Bayer's win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga a couple weeks, putting his World Cup participation in doubt.

Despite reports claiming he will miss the World Cup, Mane was still included in the Lions of Teranga's 26-man squad for the tournament last week.
However, the team announced on Thursday evening that the Ballon d'Or runner-up will play no part in Qatar.

The team announced that Mane will require surgery on the knee injury after an MRI scan was completed on Thursday.
The reigning African champions begin their World Cup campaign on Monday against Netherlands, before they take on hosts Qatar and Ecuador.
