'He was one of the best players in the PSL' - SuperSport United star Grant Margeman reveals Kaizer Chiefs idol

SuperSport United midfielder Grant Margeman has identified Kaizer Chiefs legend Reneilwe Letsholonyane has the player idolises in the local football scene.

Margeman, who is spending the season with Matsatsantsa on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, has been a key figure for Gavin Hunt this season. The 25-year-old has made 10 appearances and scored twice from the heart of the Tshwane outfit.

Speaking exclusively to KickOff on his on-field role models, Margeman identified another player who was just as consistent in his prime, if not more.

"I would probably say Yeye [Reneilwe Letsholonyane]," Margeman said.

"What I liked about him? Just the way he was dictating play. Especially during the time when Kaizer Chiefs were doing well."

Letsholonyane was a key-part of a Chiefs side that blew away the opposition in a record-breaking Absa Premiership season under Stuart Baxter, and eventually won the 2014/15 league title.

"Obviously he also played here at SuperSport as well,  but the time he was playing at Chiefs, I think he was probably one of the best players in the PSL," added Margeman.

"I think he was one of the players that was making Kaizer Chiefs tick at the time and also I think he didn't so much in stats in terms of assists and goals but I think when it comes to overall game play he was one of the best."

Margeman will hope to have a similar impact on his side when SuperSport returns to DStv Premiership action on 30 December against Marumo Gallants.
