Samuel Eto'o and the Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) are reportedly set to be sued amid a recent blackmail scandal.
French journalist Romain Molina has revealed that a lawsuit is on the cards after Fecafoot wrongfully accused him of attempted blackmail and extortion.

It was claimed in a statement by the federation that Molina had proposed to drop a story alleging problems within Cameroonian football if a payment of €25 000 (about R463 000) was made to him by the organisation's president Eto'o.
The journalist swiftly responded by insisting that the attempt to extort money from the former FC Barcelona striker had come from somebody impersonating him.
Molina added that Eto'o should have realised this as they had been in contact via his own phone number regarding a separate issue earlier this year, with the blackmail attempt coming from a different number.
The French reporter, who has written many articles uncovering sexual abuse in various places, alleges that their past conversation was solely about cases of paedophilia at an academy in Cameroon.
According to the BBC, the Fecafoot statement released refers to accusations made by Molina, who said in a video clip online that "Cameroonian players have paid to be called up to the national team".
"He [Molina] purported to have documents and a flash drive containing audio and telephone conversations that were harmful to the image of the Federation and its president," the statement read.
"Romain Molina added that he was ready to renounce the publication of these elements in exchange for a payment of 25 000 euros.
"Obviously, the president of Fecafoot never followed up on this request, because it is a principle not to negotiate with blackmailers.
"In any case, Fecafoot is considering filing a complaint with the French justice system regarding this attempted extortion."

Molina has now opened up about being falsely accused of blackmail, and confirmed that he will be suing the federation.
"The only time I spoke to Eto'o was in March – and the conversation I had was to warn him about paedophilia cases in a big football academy in Cameroon," the journalist said, per the BBC.
"That so-called number pretending to me is definitely not my number, nor my picture and the guy doesn't know how to write French properly – there are big mistakes.
"So it's scandalous because when you look at the statement of Fecafoot, they didn't say it's me but everyone will believe it's me.
"My lawyer will definitely sue because it's a big lie."
