Striker’s New Contract Not Up To Hunt To Decide

SuperSport United's top striker Bradley Grobler has opened up regarding Gavin Hunt's influence in his contract situation at the club.

In January next year, the 34-year-old will enter the last six months of his contract and as previously confirmed by the player, Grobler and the club are yet to open up talks regarding an extension.

The striker has been an integral part of the Matsatsantsa set-up over the past few years and has continued to show up for the team since Gavin Hunts' arrival at the helm at the start of the season. However, when asked about Hunt's influence on his future at the club, the player confirmed that he had not yet spoken to his head coach about his situation.

"I haven't, I haven't spoken to him about it, I've seen few of his comments here and there you know, as much as he would possibly like it, it's not entirely up to him at the end of the day you know. "So ja, I think whenever when someone is ready to talk they will start talking. As of now, nothing has come up."

According to a well-placed source what Grobler is currently experiencing at SuperSport is normal in South African football.

"Bradley is looking forward on getting the season going again, as for the club dragging their feet ja, it's always like that, especially at his age. "I don't think the player is worried though, he will still find something even if it's not with SuperSport," said the source.
