Former Zambia star Enock Mwepu has been appointed to a coaching role by a Premier League club little more than two months after he was tragically forced into retirement at the age of just 24.
The ex-Brighton Hove Albion midfielder shocked most when he suddenly announced his retirement from the sport in October, citing a hereditary heart condition that prevented him from competing professionally.

Prior to the confirmation of his decision, the player had spent some time away from pitch undergoing tests and weighing up his options.
However, his diagnosis sadly brought his fledgling career in the Premier League to an abrupt end after making only 27 appearances for the Seagulls since his July 2021 move from Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.
He has reason to smile now, though, as Brighton have confirmed that the former playmaker will take up a new role as the head coach of the club's U9 side in the youth academy.
"We're really happy that Enock has decided to remain here at our club and use his experience to help develop our young players," manager Roberto De Zerbi said in a statement on the club's official website.
"Considering his age, Enock has a wealth of experience. He has played in the Champions League and Premier League, as well as captaining his country. This is the next chapter for Enock in his footballing career."

CEO and deputy chairman Paul Barber said: "We were very keen to help Enock with the next stage of his career, and we're delighted he's taken us up on the offer to join our academy coaching staff after an incredibly difficult time for him and his family following his diagnosis.
"Whenever we recruit a new member of staff, on or off the pitch, we want them to fit with our club values, and Enock absolutely encapsulates those perfectly.
"We're thrilled Enock will continue to be part of our club, and believe Enock has a huge amount of potential as a coach.
