Deadlock in Pirates target Makhaula negotiations

There is a deadlock in AmaZulu FC's negotiations with Makhehlene Makhaula for a new contract.

The Orlando Pirates-bound defensive-midfielder is rumoured to have already signed a pre-contract with the Soweto giants.

So far this season he has played 17 of the team's matches.

Both the AmaZulu and the Makhaula camp are not willing to open up on the issue, and instead, keep pointing at each other.

Last season the KwaZulu-Natal club lost Siyethemba Sithebe in a similar way as he went on to sign a pre-contract with Pirates' rivals Kaizer Chiefs.

Just like his agent Sizwe Ntshangase, when contacted by this publication, Makhaula refused to touch on the matter.

"Hhayi no, no, no brother I can't comment on that because I don't know anything about it," Makhaula tells KickOff.com.

"At the moment I'm not in a position to speak to the media, l've been receiving a lot of calls, it's better if you speak to the club," his agent Sizwe Ntshangase responded.

"I'm not going to say anything, I'm not commenting on the Makhaula issue.

"So my answer is...I can't comment. Makhaula is an AmaZulu player, I'm not part of AmaZulu so why am I the right person to comment?

According to Usuthu chairman Sandile Zungu, Ntshangase is in a better position to comment on their negotiations.

"Speak to Sizwe Ntshangase please, he is the agent of Makhaula.

"I'm out in Mauritius, I'll only be back in the country on the weekend, then I'll be able to comment on soccer matters.

"In the meantime, Sizwe Ntshangase is in a better position to comment, he is the one who negotiates with teams for his player.

"Most of it to me it's complete speculation. I will only talk when I get to the country, once all things are finalised.

"In the meantime talk to Sizwe Ntshangase."
