Riveiro coy on Lorch availability

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro was reluctant to provide an update on the availability of attacking midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch ahead of a blockbuster clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Buccaneers are putting in the final preparations for an intense fixture against log-leaders and Dstv Premiership defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

For Pirates' supporters, the availabity of talisman Thembinkosi Lorch is one of the major questions hanging over the fixture.

The 29-year-old has not featured for Pirates since mid-August after sustaining a knee injury against SuperSport United. He's featured just five times for Pirates this season and has missed 17 games due to the injury.

Lorch returned to full training in mid-January and was once again involved in the club's preparations for the Sundowns clash on Wednesday, during Pirates' Media Open Day.

However, Riveiro chose to keep his cards close to his chest when quizzed about the possibility of the midfielder featuring on Saturday.

"I don't know who going to be available on the next game so far. It's something that we will know on Saturday, just before the game - who is available or not. I'm not going to talk about that," the Spaniard told journalists.

Both sides go into the fixture on the back of a good run of form. Pirates will be looking to collect their fourth win consecutive win, while Sundowns will be just as keen to extend their DStv Premiership record-breaking run of 14 successive wins.

The match will be played at the Orlando Stadium at a 15:30 scheduled kick-off time.
