Manchester City star Joao Cancelo faces an uncertain future out on loan at Bayern Munich following the recent comments made by the German club's sporting director.
The Portugal international made a surprise exit from the Etihad last week, as he joined Bayern on loan for the remainder of the season on deadline day.
It was rumoured that the move came as a result of a fallout between him and City boss Pep Guardiola, however, both of them have since dismissed claims that there was a rift between them.
The versatile full-back, who had fallen out of favour in Manchester, explained that his departure was simply about his lack of minutes following the resumption of the English Premier League season after the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
"I've not had much game time in the past few weeks, which influenced my decision," he said at his Bayern unveiling, according to talkSPORT.
"It has nothing to do with my relationship with Pep. I decided to leave for a new adventure. I'm happy here, it's a big club, with a lot of history."

It is understood that the Citizens have included an option to buy in the loan deal, which is worth a reported €70 million (R1.3 billion).
However, it now seems that the fee could prove to be stumbling block for the Bavarian outfit, as their sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has since shared his concerns regarding a permanent transfer.
"We also told him [Cancelo] clearly that this sum is difficult for us to imagine in the next few years," said Salihamidzic, according to talkSPORT.
"But I have also learned if all sides absolutely want a common solution, you can also manage it in the end.
"He knows that he has been one of our dream players for years."
