An English-born French youth international playing in the Premier League has reportedly rejected the chance to play for African giants Algeria.
In January, Algeria reportedly secured the services of Houssem Aouar, who was linked with a move to Manchester United in the most recent transfer window.
The 24-year-old won one cap for France in October 2020 in a match against Ukraine and it seems it will have been his last.

Reports suggested that the African country were also eyeing Crystal Palace's Michael Olise.
However, Algerian football journalist Said Fellak has now reported that Olise has rejected the opportunity.
Interestingly, Olise's father, Vincent Olise told the winger to pick Nigeria over Algeria in 2022.
The former Reading FC player was born in England to a Nigerian father and a French-Algerian mother which means that the footballer can represent England, France, Nigeria and Algeria.

Olise previously was called up by former Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr but he chose to not honour the call.
It remains unconfirmed which country appeals the most to the forward.
