Zwane hails 'soldier' Christian Saile following debut goal

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane hailed emerging star Christian Saile Basomboli following the striker's debut goal in a Nedbank Cup win over Maritzburg United on Friday night.

The Glamour Boys advanced to the Last 16 of the Nedbank Cup thanks to a 2-0 win over 10-man Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

Saile and Ashely Du Preez were on the score-sheet with a proud Zwane praising the Congolese attacker's mentality.

"He [Saile] is a soldier of note and we expect more [to come] from him," Zwane said post-match.

"He's got this 'never say die' attitude and that's what we want. He never stopped running.

"He never stopped working hard on and off the ball as well, and that is why they [Saile and Du Preez] ended up scoring.

"I always remind them [Saile and Du Preez] that you create your own luck. Keep working hard and you'll always be rewarded. they were rewarded today."

Chiefs now turn their attention to the DStv Premiership where they will host Golden Arrows at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
