Spain to lure Man Utd star away from representing Argentina?

Spain are reportedly trying to persuade Manchester United rising star Alejandro Garnacho to represent them instead of Argentina.

Garnacho has a lot minutes with the first Red Devils first-team this season under Erik ten Hag and has three goals for in 13 appearances.

The Red Devils are still trying to tie down the 18-year-old to long-term deal after his performances this season.

The attacker also has a choice to make with regards to his international career now, with the Mirror reporting Spain are still trying to recruit him.

Garnacho is eligible to represent Argentina and Spain as he has dual nationality due to his Argentine mother and Spanish father.

The United attacker grew up in Spain and even made three appearances for the Spanish under-18 side, before switching to the Argentina under-20 side.

Garnacho was also called up to the senior squad a year, but is yet to play an official matches, meaning he can still represent La Roja.

United legend Paul Scholes says Garnacho reminds of younger Cristiano Ronaldo with his style of play.

"He almost reminded me of a young Cristiano with his skill and taking the ball down with confidence," Scholes told BT Sport.

"I was impressed with the way he could attack on both feet and the unpredictability.

"He is an 18-year-old kid and he has a big future at Manchester United."
