Erik ten Hag has revealed why he had a meeting with legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson ahead of the Red Devils' crucial UEFA Europa League match against FC Barcelona.
Ten Hag has sparked a huge turnaround since arriving at the club at the beginning of the season, with his side's form having also drastically improved following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

This sensational run has been epitomised by striker Marcus Rashford, who has registered 17 goals and four assists in 17 appearances since the resumption of club football in late December.
United are also still in the running in all cup competitions – they have a date with West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup, a Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United on Sunday, and a last 32 Europa League clash against Barca on Thursday night – and remain in contention for the Premier League title as they sit third on the table, only five points adrift of leaders Arsenal.
Winning silverware has been a relatively rare occurrence at the club since Ferguson retired in 2013, with the side having won only three trophies since the Scotsman bid farewell to the game.
With the English giants nearing six years without a cup win, Ten Hag has now revealed that he recently met with iconic United boss Ferguson to acquire some knowledge from the 81-year-old ahead of the crunch game against Barca.

The pair met in Cibo in Wilmslow, where Ferguson resides, and the Dutchman left feeling very "excited" following their dining session.
"It's massive," Ten Hag said, according to Manchester Evening News.
"I always enjoy speaking with people who have a lot of knowledge, who have a lot of experience.
"He wants to share it, so he wants to help and he wants to support. You feel Manchester United is his club and he feels so committed.
"We are doing well. It was a great night and I look forward to the next night with him!
