Greenwood set for Man Utd exit?

With Mason Greenwood's Manchester United future in doubt, the club has now reportedly received a few offers for his services.

The 21-year-old was relieved of all charges of attempted rape, assault, and controlling and coercive behaviour by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in February after key witnesses withdrew their involvement in the trial.

With the CPS confirming there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction, United swiftly announced that they would be conducting their own investigation into the matter, and that the player remains suspended pending the outcome of the internal probe.

A solution is yet to be reached, with the club thought to be considering three courses of action: selling the player, terminating his contract with full compensation, or allowing him back into first-team training.

The latter resolution is understood to be a contentious alternative, though, as it opposed by many in the Red Devils' women's team, while sponsors are also reportedly concerned about such an outcome.

With the player potentially available to be signed, clubs in Europe are keeping a close eye on the situation pending the outcome of United's internal investigation, which could be concluded by the end of the season.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the Manchester outfit has now received offers to loan the striker from a few Turkish clubs and other teams that have open transfer windows.

No formal bids have been made as yet, but interest remains strong in the Englishman despite his damaged reputation, and it remains to be seen if United will be tempted to send Greenwood out on a temporary basis.

It was reported recently that Fenerbahce were one of the interested parties, with the Istanbul side said to be willing to deal with any potential outrage that comes with signing Greenwood.

With the forward's contract at Old Trafford only expiring in June 2025, The Athletic reports that United are also considering a "phased" reintroduction of the player back into the team, along with a television interview in which he explains his side of what happened, and therapy sessions.
