He had been a long-time target for the side, who saw an initial bid rejected by the Winelands outfit for his signature in the July transfer window.

Not to be denied, The Brazilians returned in the January window more determined.

"Yeah, I think Sundowns had been looking for me for some time," Adams admitted, speaking to journalists on Thursday at the club's base, revealing that he was slightly upset about being informed of the move at the eleventh hour.

"My agent called me, and he said I must pack my bags the next day. I was upset because it was a short notice.

"I spoke to my girlfriend and child first, because they live with me and are close with me. Fortunately, I had to do my job."
