Luis Suarez has revealed that he and Lionel Messi tried to convince Neymar to join a Premier League club instead of Paris Saint-Germain when he left FC Barcelona in 2017.
The three players once formed one of the deadliest attacking trios in football history, scoring a staggering 253 goals in the 113 matches they played together from the 2014/15 season to the 2016/17 campaign, per Mobile Premier League.

Their time together at the Camp Nou came to an abrupt end in 2017, however, when Neymar reportedly had a fallout with the club's hierarchy, with the situation resulting in a record-breaking transfer to Paris Saint-Germain for a mammoth €222 million (R4.3 billion).
Although the Brazilian would become the world's most expensive player of all time, Suarez has revealed that he and his teammate at the time, Messi, tried to persuade Neymar to go to England instead of France.
"If Neymar had stayed at Barcelona, he would have won a Ballon d'Or, for sure," Suarez told Spanish news outlet Marca, with the Selecao talisman having finished third for the Golden Ball in 2015 and 2017, but has not returned to the podium since moving to PSG.
"We went to talk to Neymar and told him: 'Ney, if you want to win everything, stay here'. There are all environments that are sometimes difficult to control.
"We, as friends, advised him to stay, but it's his decision, his family's.
"We said: 'Neymar, England is better. [Manchester] City, that football will be better there. But in France?"
The former Liverpool striker also added that he had his two teammates to thank for winning the European Golden Boot in the 2015/16 season, when he finished the campaign with 59 goals across all competitions and was included in the 2016 FIFA FIFPRO World 11.

"For us, Messi was the best in the world and for me, Neymar was number 2. They made me win the Golden Boot, I will always be grateful to them," Suarez added.
"This is another proof that three stars can play with one team with the aim of winning with the team and not thinking individually, and this is what made us better."
