Erik ten Hag's Manchester United are reportedly getting closer to agreeing a huge deal for the striker who will be Cristiano Ronaldo's permanent replacement at Old Trafford.
After refusing to spend big in January to replace the departed Portugal star, United are expected to splash the cash in the next window and are actively pursuing a top-class striker, with Wout Weghorst, whose loan arrival two months ago is believed to have been a short-term solution for the Red Devils, not expected to be at the Theatre of Dreams next season.

A few names have been linked with the Manchester giants as a result, including English duo Harry Kane and Ivan Toney.
The latter was rumoured to be a potential target for the club both in January and at the start of the season, but no formal offer was made for the Brentford star on both occasions.
Speculation over a potential deal for Kane has gained traction in recent weeks amid Tottenham Hotspur's woes, which saw the Londoners bow out of the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League within the space of a week earlier this month.
This has cast doubt over the striker's future in London, with United and Bayern Munich reportedly his mostly likely next destinations.
However, the Red Devils appear to have set their sights on a different target, with La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Ten Hag's side are making strides in their chase for Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen.
The Napoli talisman is one of the most sought-after players in Europe, with clubs such as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain also thought to be in the running for his signature.
Per the abovementioned Italian publication, Ten Hag has been informed that the Serie A outfit will accept United's bid for the attacker, which is expected to be no less than €100 million (R1.9 billion) in order to prise the Super Eagle away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Osimhen has netted 25 goals in 29 appearances so far this season, and looks to be on course to win his first Serie A league title as Napoli are 19 points clear at the summit of the table.
