End of the road for Mathoho at Chiefs?

The impending arrival of several new players could mean the end for renowned Kaizer Chiefs stalwarts such as Eric Mathoho.

Defenders Thatayaone Ditlhokwe and Given Msimango have reportedly been recruited to reinforce Arthur Zwane's defensive department for next season.

The defensive duo have both reportedly signed four-year deals to bolster the Chiefs squad.

Mduduzi Mdantsane is another player set to join Kaizer Chiefs next season after reportedly agreeing terms with Amakhosi.

The Soweto giants now look set to release a number of players such as Mathoho, Phathutshedzo Nange and Cole Alexander, at the end of this season.

Nange appears set to join SuperSport United, while Mathoho's spell at Naturena looks likely to have reached its expiry date after falling down the pecking order.

"Eric Mathoho's contract with Kaizer Chiefs is due to expire in June, and the club have not indicated anything in terms of extending again for next season," a source within Kaizer Chiefs tells KickOff.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are set to offer veteran goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune a one-year extension on his current deal with the club.

Khune's initial contract with Amakhosi is set to expire in June this year.
