Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau delivered a Man of the Match performance as Al Ahly defeated Al Hilal to crucially seal a spot in the last eight of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.
Al Ahly finished second behind Mamelodi Sundowns with an emphatic 3-0 win over Sudanese side Al Hilal. Tau grabbed an assist as Kahraba struck in the first half before Hussein El Shahat added a brace in the second stanza.

The win sends the Egyptian side into the last eight of the CAF Champions League where they join Mamelodi Sundowns, Raja AC, Wydad AC, Simba SC, JS Kabylie, CR Belouizdad and Esperance de Tunis.
For Tau, the recent spike in form presents a sigh of relief for a player who missed a large chunk of the season due to injury and was largely rumoured to be facing the exit door from the Egyptian side.

Since his return, Tau has been in electric from for Al Ahly, contributing two goals and three assists his last three appearances in the CAF Champions League.

The 28-year-old is also fresh from national team duty where he heled Bafana Bafana qualified for the 2023 Afcon to be played in January next year.
Tau and Co will now turn their attention back to the Egyptian Premier League where they face Ghazi El Mahalla on Wednesday night.
