A Manchester United star who cost the club a hefty €85 million (R1.7 billion) could reportedly leave Old Trafford in the next transfer window.
Only five players in United's history having cost them upwards of €80 million (R1.6 billion), namely: Paul Pogba, Antony, Harry Maguire, Romelu Lukaku and Jadon Sancho.

All of these stars have come under serious criticism during their time at the club, with many feeling the huge fees paid for them were not entirely justified given their contributions at Old Trafford.
While three of the aforementioned names remain at United, it now appears one of them could be set for a surprise return to one of his former employers.
According to German news outlet Bild, Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl is in permanent contact with the representatives of Sancho, who left the Bundesliga club in an €85 million transfer to the Red Devils in July 2021, ahead of a potential move for the England international.
It is said the winger is interested in a return to Signal Iduna Park on loan following his successful four-season stint at the club previously, during which he registered 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games.
According to Transfermarkt, the Englishman's stock has plummeted by almost 50% since making the move to Manchester, with the attacker contributing just 11 goals and five assists in 72 games for United to date.
It is further claimed, however, that Sancho's loan return to Germany will be difficult to pull off as BVB would potentially have to cover all of the 23-year-old's reported wages of £262 000 (R6 million) a week, which would make him Dortmund's highest-paid star.

Sancho still has three years left on his deal at the Theatre of Dreams, but it remains to be seen if he will be part of Erik ten Hag's long-term plans for United after so far failing to establish himself as a regular starter.
