Aubameyang's desired next club revealed

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed the club he wants to play for next season.

The Gabonese forward has endured a largely underwhelming first season at Chelsea since making the switch from FC Barcelona in September last year, with his time at the Premier League giants mostly characterised by a lack of game time and goals.

In 21 appearances for the west London outfit, the centre-forward has managed to find the back of the net only three times, and has played less than 1 000 minutes of football across all competitions so far. He was also removed from the Blues' UEFA Champions League squad in January.

In March, he reportedly ruffled some feathers at Stamford Bridge after he was spotted celebrating with Barcelona players in the dressing room at the Camp Nou following the Blaugrana's ElClasico victory over arch-rivals Real Madrid.

There were suggestions he would be punished by the English club for his actions, but there has been no confirmation of any repercussion regarding the incident.

In a more recent match against his old side Arsenal this month, the 33-year-old was hooked off at half-time after registering just nine touches in the first 45 minutes, in what was a dismal return to the Emirates Stadium.

As a result, he was heavily slated by pundits and fans alike for his performance, including former Chelsea player Craig Burley, who called for the club to never play the marksman again, per ESPN

Aubameyang has since refused to hide the fact that he wants out of the Premier League club, and has now made it clear he would like a return to Spain.

Speaking on the DjamLife TikTok feed recently, he openly admitted: "I'd like to return to Barcelona… but we will see."

A massive exodus is likely to take place at Chelsea in the next window given the side's bloated squad and increasing financial fair play concerns.

The former Borussia Dortmund talisman is thought to be one of the first names on the list of expected departures, with Frank Lampard's side believed to also be willing to terminate his deal, which is set to expire in June 2024, altogether.
