Paris Saint-German clinched the Ligue 1 title with a game to spare following a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg on Saturday evening.
Brazi international Marquinhos was a big miss at the heart of the PSG defence, but Vitinha and Renato Sanches were welcome additions in the forward areas.
It was a promising opening for the league leaders where a clever pass from Lionel Messi set Kylian Mbappe in-behind and clear to goal, but the French captain was courted.
However, the host responded ahead of the midway phase after Habib Diallo intercepted a loose ball from uncertain defending and saw his goal-bound effort parried by Sergio Ramos.
PSG bounced back just on the half-hour mark and a half-volley from Sanches draw a stupendous save from goalkeeper Matz Sels in the opposing goal following Mbappe's corner.
The host launched another swift reply seven minutes to halftime courtesy of a speculative volley outside the box by Diallo from a knockdown, but he hit the woodwork.
It remained a pretty tense affair a few minutes in the second half where the teams battled to get a breakthrough but remained extremely tight in defence.
The quality from PSG proved decisive over 12 minutes from the break when Mbappe carved out an opening from a switch of play and set-up Messi to slam in the roof of the net for the opener.
Mbappe was in again from another angled delivery this time by Messi minutes ahead of the closing period, but was kept out on this particular occasion.
As the visitors remained unchanged, Strasbourg refreshed their attack in the final minutes with Kevin Gameiro come on for Ibrahima Sissoko.
Strasbourg steadily clawed their way back and duly levelled as a smart weighted ball landed saw Gameiro take aim and bundled in the net against his former side.
Both teams went searching for the winner as the minutes to full-time began to tick away, but neither managed to find a way in and level it remained with PSG claiming the title.
