Real Madrid 'set condition' for Mbappe after Benzema exit

Following Karim Benzema's confirmed departure, Real Madrid have now reportedly set a new condition for Kylian Mbappe to join them.

Los Blancos recently announced that four players will be leaving the club this month, while reports suggest there may be a few more departures from the Santiago Bernabeu in the coming weeks.

While Eden Hazard, Marco Asensio, and Mariano Diaz will now close their chapter at Real, Benzema's exit is perhaps the most notable as he was the subject of massive speculation prior to confirming his farewell on Sunday.

The striker was hugely influential for the club, scoring 353 goals and winning 24 trophies during his time in Madrid, and his departure is set to create a huge void in the centre-forward position for Real, who are currently without a replacement nor a back-up.

With Los Blancos now on the lookout for new attackers, their sights have reportedly turned to Mbappe once again as their lengthy pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain superstar looks set to continue.

According to Marca, Real have set a new condition that if the 24-year-old wants to make his "dream" move to Spain, he must confirm in writing, complete with his signature, that he will join them after June 2024 when his PSG contract expires.

It is further claimed that Carlo Ancelotti's side expect the agreement in principle to be signed by January, when the player is down to the last six months of his deal at the Parc des Princes.

Mbappe, meanwhile, was left undeniably unimpressed this past weekend when his side stumbled to a 3-2 defeat to Clermont Foot on the final day of the Ligue 1 season.

Having already insisted he will stay at PSG for another season, the French forward told Canal Plus: "What do I expect from PSG next season? No, nothing, I'm just here to play.

"I still have a contract, I come to play. The club is doing what it can, I'll just be happy with what the club is doing.

"The rest is none of my business."
