Percy Tau's Al Ahly secured their 11th CAF Champions League title with a 3-2 aggregate victory over Wydad Casablanca in the final.
Red Devils coach Marcel Koller made just one change from the first leg as club captain Mohamed El-Shenawy returned from injury and replaced Mostafa Shobeir between the sticks.
Wydad would have had fond memories of this fixtures in last year's final, which was only one leg, as they secured a 2-0 victory at the very same stadium.
The home side enjoyed most of the possession in the early stages of the first half but they were unable to trouble, with Ayoub El Amloud miscuing a low strike after 15 minutes after a surging run.
Wydad got their rewarded in the 27th minute to go level in the tie, with Yahya Attiat-Allah's free-kick finding the far corner despite Mohamed Ounajem claiming he got a slight touch.
While the hosts were threat on set-pieces for most of the first half, Al Ahly were unable to carve out any serious openings at the Wydad goal as goalkeeper Youssef El Motie did not have a single save to make.
It was more of the same in the second half but the game was halted just after the 60-minute mark due to a lack of visibility on the pitch after flares and fireworks were thrown onto the pitch.
When the game resumed, it was Al Ahly who got the next goal as Mohamed Abdelmonem got on the end Ali Maâloul's cross and sent a looping header to the far post to his side 3-2 up on aggregate in the 77th minute.
That goal got the job done for Marcel Koller's charges on the night and they were able to see off a late push from the defending champions to claim a 3-2 aggregate win and reclaim the label of African champions.
