Teammate makes big Mane-Bayern claim

A teammate of Sadio Mane's has now made a big claim about the player's future at Bayern Munich.

Mane's struggles in Germany have been laid bare in the media, and he is now being linked with a premature departure from Bayern after just one season at the club.

Despite a productive first few months at the Bundesliga club, things took a turn after he picked up an injury just before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November.

After a lengthy injury lay-off, his form took a dip, seeing him score just one league goal following his return to action in February.

A dressing room bust-up with teammate Leroy Sane made matters worse, with the 31-year-old thought to have lost his popularity in the squad after he left the German with a bleeding lip

With an overhaul reportedly set to take place ahead of Thomas Tuchel's first full season in charge of the Bavarians, it's been reported that Mane has an uncertain future at the club, with the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus believed to be considering giving the Senegal star a fresh start.

His Lions of Teranga compatriot Saliou Ciss has now offered an explanation as to why the former Liverpool star has struggled in Munich, however, and also insisted that the 2022 CAF Men's Footballer of the Year will bounce back at Bayern in the 2023/24 campaign.

"Sadio has just joined a new league, a new environment. His injury didn't help," Ciss told CANAL+ SPORT Afrique.

"By next season, he will be able to overcome all the problems and poor performances. We will see a new Sadio Mane [at Bayern next season]."

Bayern, though, have reportedly placed a price tag of between €25 million and €35 million (R501 million and R601 million) on the west African should any potential suitor be keen to snap him up, according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti.
