Serie A striker breaks silence on 'joining Manchester Utd’

A Serie A striker has broken his silence amid reports of a potential move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils are in the market for a striker after having to rely heavily on Marcus Rashford this past season, as he contributed a valuable 30 goals in 2022/23.

The January loan signing of Wout Weghorst has largely underwhelmed, with the Netherlands marksman failing to score a single a Premier League goal in 17 matches after coming in as Cristiano Ronaldo's replacement.

Last month, Ten Hag highlighted that his side needed a striker who would also chip in with a fair amount of goals and even indicated that outcast Mason Greenwood, had also shown he is capable of scoring on a more consistent basis before his suspension from the team due to allegations of attempted rape and assault.

As such, the club has been linked with a plethora of strikers, including Harry Kane, Randal Kolo Muani, and Rasmus Hojlund.

It was recently reported that United had made headway in the pursuit of the latter centre-forward, as Ten Hag had made several video calls to convince the player about his project at Old Trafford.

The Atalanta star has since broken his silence on the speculation.

"There has been no video call," Hojlund told Danish outlet Berlingske. "I can't say anything about that.

"It's a huge club, so I must have done something right if it says they want me.

"My goal is to reach the top shelf, and you can say that Manchester United is. So, it will be huge."

The 20-year-old also revealed that he had recently changed his agent, a move that has created further speculation over his future in Bergamo.

"I have found someone, but it is on a trial period," the Denmark international added.
