Barca to sell four big-name stars?

FC Barcelona reportedly called an urgent meeting this week as the club are aiming to sell some of the big-name players before the end of the month.

Barcelona's financial troubles have been well documented over the last couple years, but it seems some sacrifices need to be made before the new season.

Spanish outlet Sport have reported that the club called a meeting this week to discuss selling some of the bigger players in the first team squad.

The Blaugrana are already losing both Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets at the end of the month, but a few more big names could join them.

The first big-name player that could be offloaded is Ansu Fati, whose future at the Camp Nou has been up in the air since the player's father remarks a few months ago.

Attacking duo Raphinha and Ferran Torres are also reportedly on the list, although coach Xavi Hernandez has been vocal in his hopes to keep the former.

Frenkie De Jong is another name that has been linked to a possible departure, as the club feel they could get a big transfer fee for his services.

De Jong, meanwhile, recently stated that he expects to be playing with the Catalan giants next season.

"That has been clear to me, also last summer when things were restless for a while. I always knew that I wanted to stay at Barcelona, that's why it wasn't so stressful for me last summer," De Jong told Voetbal International.

"Also, I had just signed a contract extension [in 2020] so I always felt that I was in control and able to decide for myself.

"That's why I didn't bother [worrying about it]. I feel good at Barcelona and assume that I will still be playing here next season."
