Reports in Italy claims that Tonali initially did not want to join the Premier League outfit and claims the Serie A side pushed the player to make the move.
Tuttosport reported that the Tonali's teammates at Milan felt sorry to see the midfielder believe but understood his decision to take up the big offer from Newcastle.
The Italian midfielder spent three seasons with Milan and won a Serie A title while making 131 appearances during that period.
