Mane finally speaks out on infamous punch-up

Bayern Munich's Sadio Mane has finally opened up on the infamous fight that left teammate Leroy Sane with a bleeding lip.

The Senegal international has now broken his silence on his dressing-room bust-up with Sane in April after several months of remaining mum on the fight.

Having served a one-match ban and been fined a reported £250 000 (R5.9 million) by Bayern for his actions, the ex-Liverpool forward has now insisted he has put the incident behind him.

"This kind of things can happen. It happened. We were able to solve this small problem," Mane told Senegalese television station 2sTV.

"Sometimes it's good to solve problems, but maybe not in this way.

"It's behind us now. We'll try to fight together to help the club achieve its goals next season."

He also made it clear he intends to stay at Bayern next season, contrary to reports about his future.

"I'm on vacation with the family. It was a very complicated season, it happens. It wasn't a surprise, I expected things to be a bit complicated. It's normal.

"I love challenges, and Bayern is a big challenge.

"It's up to me to do everything to meet this challenge.

"... God willing. If everything goes well, I'm going to return to Bayern."

His agent Bacary Cisse also recently confirmed that the plan is for his client to remain in Bavaria and see out the remainder of his three-year deal, amid speculation linking him with a move to the Middle East.

"I haven't heard about approaches from Saudi – what's certain is that he stays at Bayern," the player representative said.

"He signed for three years. He spent one year and still has two. So yes, for now he stays at Bayern."
